Persephone’s Descent

Autumn washes over the Land of the Living in crisp breezes and swirling dried leaves as Persephone begins her return to Hades. Clutching the gilded pomegranate necklace gifted her by Hades, she stares ahead into the darkness and wonders what this winter has in store.

This was the watercolor and acrylic on multimedia paper is first painting I began in 2018 when I first moved to Richmond, VA. I was working for one of my mentors, world-famous tattooer and muralist Jesse Smith. Between 2 kids and a full schedule of clients, I didn’t finish this piece until the shut-down of 2020.

This piece has been accepted into the Creatures of the Night art show at The Camel in Richmond, VA. It has been made into yoga mats (I personally practice on this mat almost exclusively) and I will be making it available on a print-on-demand store. And now I am finally ready to sell this original piece. Contact me to make an offer, minimum bid $1500. Bidding closes November 4, 2026.
